Gone Girl

A movie about the disappearance of a woman. The main suspect is his husband. Do we know the person we get married to?
I don't like Ben Affleck, but he does a good part.
If you like thrillers in which nothing is what it seems, you are going to like this movie.

World Press Photo 2014

The World Press Photo is an independent, non-profit organization that every year organizes a press contest. The winning photos travel to several countries, including Portugal. The exhibition was until the 25th May in Lisbon in the Museum of Electricity.
It reminds us of what happened in the last year in the World: the Boston marathon bombing, the typhoon in Haiyan in the Philippines, Siria.
This winning photograph shows african immigrants trying to catch the sign of a cheaper cell-phone operator based in Somalia.
This photo was taken by Elena Chernyshova. It is from Norilsk, one of the ten most polluted cities in the World. Norilsk is situated in the North of Russia, in the Arctic, and was a soviet Gulag until 1956. The thaw of permafrost has been causing a lot of problems in the city.

Muppets most wanted

If you are looking for a laugh and a couple of enjoyable hours, this is the movie to watch.
It is funny and the music is good.
I loved the role of Ty Burrell as an Interpol agent making fun of the European employment policies (paid vacation, overtime).
It's a sequel but it lives up to the first movie.

Her

Her is a love story between a man and an operating system named Samantha. It raises a lot of questions about loneliness and relations between people.
It may be possible in a near future but it seems a little scary. I read in an article that computers may know us better than ourselves in the future.

Saving Mr. Banks

This is a movie about PL Travers, the writer of Mary Poppins and the struggle Walt Disney had to get the rights.
It is a touching movie with good actors. Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks rule!

The Wolf of Wall Street

This movie is inspired by the true story of Jordan Belford, a drug addict that made millions on Wall Street. I was afraid the movie was boring (about 3 hours, no break in the middle), but it has no dull moments.
I started reading the book and most of it pretty much happened!

American hustle

Christian Bale is a con man. He meets Amy Adams and together they create the perfect con scheme until the day they are caught by an FBI agent, Bradley Cooper. They agree to work with him.
A nice movie that can be a little confusing at the beggining. The theater was almost full. You don't notice time passing.

This movie tells the true story of Solomon Northup, a black new yorker that is tricked into going to Washington and sold there as a slave.

It depicts the way black people were treated in the Southern United States before the abolishment of slavery.

It is an impressive movie worth your time.

Good movie. Fantastic soundtrack.
